Where Do The Children Play~~Trouble~~If You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out

If you are not familiar with "Harold and Maude", it's a must see. You will either love it or hate it. I don't think there's an in between.............
You are most welcome, and I am so glad that you come to visit with me...it is always a pleasant surprise, and I just love that you have so much more knowledge than I about music, it adds perspective that I cannot. So thanks to you. I am happy most all days, no matter what I play, because even in moments of sadness, the music heals my soul...it soothes me, picks me up and lets me fly again...plus I have Ken, and at some point every day, I HAVE to laugh...just think on that for a sec...lol I don't remember if I have seen it or not, I rarely watch t.v. or movies...
Thanks for the compliment. I've just been collecting, more like accumulating, records since about 1964 when I was 10 years old. I'd like to return the compliment. You've broadened my appreciation of music by posting things that I've never heard before. Although my all time favorite stuff are harder edged like garage bands of the '60s, my tastes run from Bach to the Butthole Surfers.........................
My Dad and I collect vinyl as well...he won't pick up the older rock if he is out alone, but other than that he's got me covered, of course at yard sales and estate sales we pick em up by the box full and on the cheap. Now if I had an extra couple grand I could just go crazy with, we have a store in town, called Salty's Record Attic, been there since before I was born...and gosh...it has every record you could possibly imagine....I have gone in there just to run my fingers over the covers before...and they will play whatever you would like them to, to make sure it's the one you want...can tell you the history...it's an awesome place that hardly anyone goes to anymore...if there was only a way to be put in their will..lol it's a gem of a place...they really care about the music.I have three turntables, just in case one quits...Dad and I pick those up too...lol, I also was lucky enough to be gifted his reel to reel collection and machine a few years back...when he got tired of trying to feed the tape...and it still works beautifully, I also have a collection of 8 tracks, and a working player...let us not go into cassetts and cds...I love my music.
I too buy at a place called The Attic in Millvale, PA. People from all over the country call there looking for rare vinyl. They got flooded out back in 2004 and didn't know if they would reopen. Thankfully they did. It was heartbreaking to see the aftermath of that flood. Here is a link to some pictures of it. The last two at the bottom are of The Attic.
Those last two photos were heart wrenching...I would have picked each record out of their respectively ruined jackets and kept the vinyl...that's just me...the flooding reminds me of right before I left TN...we had major flooding like that, my sons Dodge SUV the older big ole gas hog thingy...flooded up to the bottom of the seats...it was a mess in Nashville, I lived about 25 miles north, so missed the worst of it...his truck got stuck in Nashville for over a week waiting for the water to go down.
