Marked with an 18th century British tax stamp (the one that started the revolution) Lead free and Food safe glaze. Dishwasher safe NOT Microwaveable. They also list tankards mugs and "jacks" in tinware, pewter and leather.---Ray

My standard morning coffee is served in a hand thrown 36oz. 18th century stoneware tavern mug. I'd use an IV but the needles hurt.---Ray
I like your idea on size of mug, and have to agree about the IV needles....have two bruises on my arm now from them...But I do need a bigger cup!
