Legendary Motörhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister died Monday (Dec. 28) at the age of 70. The band's sound didn't change much over the years, but did they ever have staying power. Despite their rock star lifestyles (Kilmister would drink a bottle of Jack Daniel's per day well into his 60s), Motörhead stayed together continuously from 1975 until Lemmy's demise, albeit with some lineup changes. His health was deteriorating, but he soldiered on through the band's final tour, which wrapped earlier this month.

livin to ride
He may just, as I usually play it loud, he says he can still hear me singing, even though its loud but...I'm not buying it, although...he did just buy me new speakers and they ROCK! hmmmmmm
Lisa thanks for the Lemmy posts, just wanted folks to know about this as Lemmy was known as a true persona rocker but also just a nice guy, friends drank with him out in LA,had a great night.Lemmy was a huge influence on a lot of bands, his last guitarist saw Lemmy as a kid when Lemmy played in the band Hawkwind. He was a interesting character, played for a bit on the side with members of the stray cats doing rock a billy, obviously known though for sonic headbanging and one in a million bass guitar style playing,RIP Lemmy,James
James, it was my pleasure! A couple of their songs were familiar to me, but the group as a whole, were not...so it was rather fun getting acquainted with them last night...and I actually heard more familiar tunes than I thought I would...also, livin to ride....up there, sent me some links and helped my edumacation as well...so I ended up spending a couple of hours really checking them out...and was pleasantly surprised. So thanks for the request and the nudge!
