Awesome song, perhaps the best new song of the year(assuming Tull doesn't regroup and get out something quickly!),this band has one hell of a range of musical talent.
I heard he was classically trained...the lead, Zac, originally and then influenced I believe by his older brother...who is 21 years older...something like that. My granddaughters favorite song when she was 3 was Sickem on a Chicken by Zac Brown Band....she would say Sicem chiikem meme..sic em chikem....and dance all over the place..she is 9 this month...and still remembers it!
I forgot to mention,a friend I was picking up at house saw me banging me head and singing to "Heavy Is The Head",song ended as he got in car and asked what song I was so enthused about, told him and to keep his ear open on radio for it.He asked what did they sound like, immediately responded sounded like Lynard Skynard/Motley Crue/T.Rex put in a blender, this song is what you would get.He laughed shaking his head and said I need to get in another band.
Local music here. The band is from Dahlonega, Ga., 10 miles from my home. Now that they are all famous and stuff, they haven't played locally for quite a while. Crap. Used to live 50 miles down the road in Athens, Ga. Same thing happened with REM, although they did return to larger venues from time to time.
