One of my ALL TIME favorites...
No matter where I am, what I am doing, if this comes on, I stop, crank it as loud as possible and float. Every ...just like right now, my legs won't be still, nor will my head or shoulders.... Time.
Doesn't surprise me. I have not found anything by him that I didn't like yet. I am a sax player. I am not sure if it is him playing sax on Spanish Steps, but it is my number one song of all time on alto sax. If you can find it, listen to it and near the end, when it gets quiet, you can hear the flutter of the pads on the keys, as they strike. I have never heard anyone else play with that feeling on alto sax. Dexter Gordon on tenor is my favorite for tenor. But there are many more. Thanks for all the music. I am expanding my taste everyday. I don't always listen on your blog, but I do check it out.
Is this the one you are talking about? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xf_LWHBYEdE something just speaks to you, yeah? Beautiful. I read that it is him playing.
Yes, Ma'am, that is indeed the one, thank you so much for the link. I went and listened, and while there I found my other favorite, by him also, Celtic Excavation. Same sax sound, different vibe, slightly more upbeat, but kinda mellow, relaxing, soul refreshing. From some of the comments there, people seem to also refer to him as playing the sax. I have listened to him since I was just out of high school and watching the new show Saturday Night Live. I saw Sade for the first time when her and the boys broke out also, early 80's. Lots of good things coming out today, though, as well. Many thanks, for the time and the effort. I know you have a full life and a lot to do other than worry about this blog.
I also enjoyed Celtic Excavation. I like finding new music, rather it is a blast from the past, or something new from the UK...I look frequently, but I am really enjoying that others are sharing with me as well, so it's a great return on the little bit of time I spend. Sade was an attention grabber for me as well.
